Nikkala’s Story

Nikkala Niro is an oil painter based in Vancouver, BC, and a student at Emily Carr University. With a strong connection to the ocean stemming from her upbringing in North Vancouver, Nikkala's artwork is heavily inspired by the waterscapes, landscapes, and people of her coastal home. Recently, her focus has shifted to exploring the beauty of the sea in her paintings, which are characterized by their vivid and emotive colour palettes. Through her work, Nikkala strives to capture the awe-inspiring beauty of the ocean and the profound emotions it evokes.

Painting Process & Commission

Nikkala's commission process begins with a consultation to discuss the details of the painting, such as size, medium, and desired subject matter. This ensures that Nikkala has a clear understanding of the client's vision. After the consultation, Nikkala will then create a sketch or painting proposal for the client to review and approve. Upon approval, Nikkala will then begin the painting process and provide updates to the client along the way. This provides the opportunity to discuss any changes that may be desired. Once the painting is complete, the artist will present the final painting to the client for review and approval. With this, the client is able to enjoy the custom artwork for years to come.

Currently, Nikkala is working on a number of commissions and accepting inquiries based on availability. She can be reached with any questions through the contact page. To make a purchase, please contact Nikkala directly as online sales are not available at this time.
